CONFERENCE – Sunbird Nkopola Lodge, Mangochi. The 2021 ECAMA Annual Conference provided a platform for the discussion on Industrialization and Trade Development for Sustainable Economic Growth and Job Creation.

The 2021 ECAMA Annual Economic Conference was held from 11th to 12th November 2021, at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi under the theme: ‘Industrialization and Trade Development for Sustainable Economic Growth and Job Creation’. The conference's theme was chosen in accordance with Malawi 2063's second pillar. Industrialization has shown to be an effective strategy for long-term economic growth and development.

Discussions at the Conference were done under four sub themes, namely, Agriculture Commercialization and Value Addition, Industry Prioritization Analysis for Malawi, Building Resilient Industries amidst Covid-19 and Digitalization for Economic Growth and Job Creation.

Presentation on Regulatory Requirements on Supply Chains for Malawi’s Cash Crops by Mr. Limbani Kakhome, Corporate Affairs and Communication Director, JTI Malawi Limited.

Enigma of the Tobacco Industry: Clearing negative perception – Dr Joseph Chidanti Malunga, Chief Executive Officer, Tobacco Commission.

Industrialization Renaissance: The specifics are simpler – Dr Betchani Tchereni, Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS).
