PUBLIC FINANCE MANAGEMENT (PFM) RESEARCH TEAMS CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

April 1, 2021

The Economics Association of Malawi (ECAMA) organized a capacity development workshop for a team of researchers on Public Finance Management from Wednesday, 31st March – 1st April 2021 in Salima.

The workshop was part of the activities under the joint ECAMA, Oxfam and the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) project; “Enhanced Evidence-based Research to inform policy decision making in Public Finance Management (PFM)”. The project is being funded by the European Union.

During the workshop, researchers were oriented and acquainted with the goals of the project so that they understand their role in achieving the project objectives. Different presentations and discussions were made on budgeting, public expenditure management, PFM and Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) efficacy as well as data collection and analysis.

Speaking during the event, ECAMA president Lauryn Nyasulu said that the research teams are very crucial to the implementation of the project but also to the work that ECAMA does.

“You must know that the work that you will be doing is very important. It is important that you have a passion for economic development in this country. Equally, you need to be passionate about PFM work, trying to see that the government PFM system improves through.” she said.

It is expected that these researchers, having internalized the objectives/goals and having understood the role they will play on the project, will have the capacity to analyze PFM issues of public interest after the workshop.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
